rocks and a building in the zoo, and city buildings beyond.

looking through the leaves and branches of a japanese maple.. took me awhile to get a composition I liked, I knew I'd be able to find something though, the branches looked really nice.

plants and things beyond the reach of a japanese maple.. a little too bright back there, but I kind of like the effect it gives.

a fountain, just cos it was pretty with the light and shadows. love.

ducks and dappled shadows. such a pretty lil spot.

meh, took this twice, cos I felt it was a little confusing in black and white.. but I think I like it this way better.

patterns of shadows on rocks someplace outside in the zoo, not sure where offhand. really, really love this shot.

I think I really did try to shoot this one this way intentionally, and I really like the results, "incorrect" though it may technically be. penguins make very nice shapes, the black and white stand out nicely even when not in focus, and I really like the detail in the smears and drops on the window. ... ...y'know, and the more I looke at this, the more I like it. yay.

it was dark in the penguin-area, so getting shots was difficult, things kept blurring.. so in this and a few others, I purposely blurred it, just to see how it looked, and I actually quite like the results in this one.

this was ridiculously adorable, wish I'd been able to get around the water blotches, and a little closer, but.. it's a cute lil chinstrap penguin and he's standing behind the rock like he's at a podium and trying to get everyone's attention or--- idek but SOCUTE! *dies*

PENGUINS!!!!!!! ..they were inside, with a water-spattered glass window seperating us from them, so all my shots have droplets everywhere, if not fog and things as well. but we could watch them both above and below water, and I was dying all over. <333

the seals had been chasing each other around the pool in laps for awhile, then one sat still and posed, the other started imitating..until eventually they mirrored each other perfectly. and then just sat there like that. omg animals are so much more cooperative for pictures than people. *g*

this might well be the best of the bunch. though I like the richness of the really dense b&w ones, this is sogood, with the part-blur, part-visibility of the blue sign and things.
